Position fixing was controlled by Motorola Falcon 484 System using three or four lines of position. Shore reference stations were sited on secondary control stations, traversed in a network, including Trig #1085 Fort James, and #18 Buccoo Point. Coastline, land detail, and topography were obtained from both Lands and Surveys Division and field observations. Tidal observations were obtained from an automatic tide guage located at the Scarbourhough Deep Water Harbour. This guage was related to a tide board, the zero of which was conincident with Chart Datum. Soundings were taken with a Raytheon Model DE-719C Survey Fatherometer, and with a Krupp Atlas Deso 20 Echo sounder.
